About Us

Melyssa Roderick, L.C.S.W. specializes in treating individuals who want to recover from eating disorders and trauma-related issues.  Melyssa is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and uses this training to assist clients in decreasing their sense of overwhelm and utilizing their own innate ability to heal.  Additionally, Melyssa’s clinical approach incorporates various traditional psychotherapy modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, with a significant emphasis on utilizing philosophies and techniques of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  A guiding principle of DBT is that we all have access to an inner wisdom which can lead us to wholeness if we can increase our ability to recognize and trust in that wisdom.  This is a pervasive theme of Melyssa’s practice, which makes important the incorporation of mindfulness practices into the therapeutic process.  The totality of Melyssa’s experience and skills have allowed her to assist others in healing from eating disorders, traumatic experiences and relationships, anxiety, depression and a variety of other concerns.

Melyssa received her Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University.  She practices in Chandler and is licensed by the state of Arizona.

Kristin Day-Hardwig, Psy.D., a state licensed Psychologist, specializes in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders and body image issues.  She received her masters degree from Boston University and her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship in the counseling center at University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her post-doctoral fellowship at North Shore Children’s Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts. Dr. Day-Hardwig’s clinical approach includes a cognitive-behavioral emphasis with the use of DBT philosophy and techniques.  Her goal is to assist her clients in finding their inner wisdom so that healing and wellness can be a life long journey and not one that ends when therapy does.
